It’s not often that students can actually speak with an author, character, or contributor associated with a book. So, being able to have Carine McCandless come and visit with my students was an amazing experience. Her instant rapport with the kids and conversational style made the presentation a complete success. My students were over the moon. To have Carine’s rare insight into Chris McCandless and learn more about him as a person changed my students views on Into the Wild. I’m so grateful to have had this unique opportunity and hope it will become a tradition as we teach the book in the future.
